A while back, I pre-ordered the Smashing Book and it conveniently arrived just before Christmas time. The first impressions are great. I like the fact that it covers the main topics every up-to-date web designer should know about.

FlippingBook is a Flash-based PDF Publisher that turns any old PDF file into an online book with a page-turning visual effect. How flipping cool is that? :)

I first saw this effect, ages ago at IKEA’s online catalog site. I think it’s a nice tool to use with LMSs as it makes it much easier for students to refer back to online materials without having to download them.

If you are working on the content and navigation structure of  a website, Jumpchart will definitely come in handy. Use it to collaborate with your clients and make your life easier. You can even export your wireframes to clean HTML/CSS and use them as a simple starting template.

Facelift (or FLIR) is an image replacement PHP script which you can use to dynamically generate headers and banners of any font. Similar to the more popular sIFR but does not require Flash to view.
